ULTIMATE SAFETY RESORT
2006

Location
Ishigaki Island, Japan
Specificity
Egalitarian habitat
Material
Continuous wall in rough reinforced concrete, galvanized steel lattice, standard fixtures, fittings
Dimension
50 x 32 x 4 m | 600 m2
Purpose
Through its network of curves, loops and lines, Ultimate Safety Resort explores the notion of boundaries. It is both a cloistral labyrinth in search of the ultimate protection that invisibility brings, and a micro-phalanstery for tourist. Perfectly opaque from the outside, it transforms a vacation into an opportunity to reflect on the paradoxes of our inner life.
